Time Blindness: Seven Ways to Make Time Visible

Infinite Care Coaching & ConsultingMay 27, 2026 3 min readUpdated June 18, 2026

Time blindness is not carelessness. It is a difference in how the brain perceives duration — and it responds remarkably well to making time physical, visual, and audible.

Make Time Something You Can See

  • Use an analog or visual countdown timer where you work.
  • Set alarms for transitions, not just start times.
  • Estimate a task's length, then record the actual — calibration improves fast.
  • Build a fifteen-minute buffer into every departure.

You do not need to feel time more accurately. You need to see it more often.

Start Small, Start Today

Lasting change rarely comes from an overhaul. It comes from one repeatable step you can take this week, then build on next week. Choose the single strategy above that feels the most doable and give it seven days before you judge it.
